Crazy Wonderful Days

This is the Chili that I think of when I think Chili — it is the one that my mom has made for as long as I can remember!   Growing up (and I still do!) we would put this Chili over mashed potatoes!!   When I make it now, my husband puts his over elbow macaroni (which is how he did it growing up!)  So I ask you… how do you eat your Chili??

Chili 1



  • 1 lb. ground meat (browned)
  • 3 cans of tomato soup
  • 1/2 – 3/4 cup water (depending on how you like it)
  • 2 cans of kidney beans (partially drained) (I use one light and one dark)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder


Mix all ingredients together in a pot, heat through and simmer for at least 1 hour to left flavors meld.  How easy is that?!?!  Mmmm!
